Observation

I notice a common, consistent thread—young women often travel in clusters and very frequently have a clear cup with an ice beverage that slips away through their straw.

I’ve been thinking about wealth recently.

I was on a 2-week cruise to Iceland from Ireland.  There were 250+ passengers on the SilverSea Expedition ship who were getting out into the world–into an active lifestyle of exploring and cruising.

If you don’t know, SilverSea is a luxury cruise line.  My friends really enjoy these cruises, and I enjoy being with this selected family, so my wife and I often sail with them.

I’ve been reading The Childfree Guide to Life and Money. Great book so far. It mentioned you spend 1/3 of your day at work. Others, not me, because I’m FIREd.

I was thinking this should be more like HALF your week-LIFE is consumed by work stuff.

I decided to do my own calculation on the time percentage by day that work takes up.

My month started quite simply – the first two weekends would be spent attending CampFI Rocky Mountain Colorado.  I’d also have a nice 4 days in between in Longmont, CO, the Mecca of FI life.

Just days before the camps began, I decided to change from weekend 2 to mid-week 1.5 with a return to Phx , then the beach in the days after.

This post will interrupt my previously scheduled post/thought workflow.

LifeInFIRE is ALIVE again.  Crashed, moved, updated, new and improved.

Wow, when in the zone, when in a flow state, with nobody around to interrupt you, it is a magical place.  A place that I hadn’t been in for a long time.  I didn’t expect to be encompassed in the zone today.

Rarely do I get so into something that I lose track of time.  I usually tend to jump from activity to activity every 30-45 minutes or so just because I think “Oh, that is what I want to do now.” 

I’ve been posting about aFunDance and Bias for Action and how it relates to me.  This is not really about those around me, but about my own life enjoyment and happiness.  I don’t discount other people when I’m considering how I distribute my energy, but I mostly very absolutely think of things I’d enjoy first.

I’ve shared my thought that maybe Curiosity can replace Purpose.

Over the past 6+ months with that thought, I’ve realized that for me, yes, curiosity is more my internal driver than finding or having some kind of purpose.  Maybe that is true because I’m introverted and feel my satisfaction and energy come from within, far more than any external factors.  Maybe I just don’t know good examples of internal purpose.
