So, lately I’ve been writing about doing. About the ability to do. Writing about action.
But my new shirt may really sum it all up in a perfect way. It’s two buddies on motorcycles with the saying “Allumer le FEU” (They even capitalized the FEU)
Light the FIRE
I’ve been able to hang out and travel with Mark Troutman all over the world for the past 5-years.
We have created our Fun Bucket strategies together and push each other to spend some extra money on Fun. We’ve shared this concept often and encouraged others to “take some (safely) off the top” and set it aside for some Fun spending…NOW!
As part of our journeys, Mark and I, along with many others, have rented motorbikes around the world and explored. We’ve had dozens of others join us exploring riding on the wrong side of the road in Bali to villages, temples, waterfalls, beaches, and over CRAZY SMALL bridges. This became the FI Freedom Motorcycle Club. There are shirts to prove it!
So many of us have bonded together on these abstract adventures. Just a different level of FI Family adventures.
Light The FIRE
My previous post shared some of our $lacker adventures in St Barths. It shared how Mark was super generous to bring us all together in an extremely unique location.
I shared how we all strengthened our relationships and bonded deeply.
I think about how being FIREd made this trip possible.
I think about how Ability is a key factor in preparation for something. But taking Action to make something happen is the key.
Having savings is great, but having the guts to use those resources for something is vital. Light the FIRE, to me means, take action. Make it happen. YOU control the best of you.
FI Freedom Motorcycle Shirt #2
When Mark and I saw these shirts in St Barths, we knew we really should buy them. They just seemed like the right shirt for us. The fact that we were right in the middle of living part of Mark’s version of Die With Zero spending on what matters made them perfect.
Even funnier was that they were on sale.
The post’s pictures show a little about what the shirt says and feels. Can you tell which one I am on the shirt?
But the shirt’s logo might just say it all, if you believe.

There are other shirts online with this motto, but they are generic. The other shirts are not that extremely specific for us. The generic shirts do not encapsulate what these new shirts do; the FI Freedom Motorcycle Club-St Barths chapter version.
